The Pax is designed for those paddlers who are seeking a waterborne sports car for racing, exercise, or just plain fun.   CLC’s design team went to great lengths to make this kayak extremely functional for racing.  Wave Dancer Productions uses the Pax 20™ for its race Team.  The heel of the stem is rounded to shed race-killing weeds or kelp.  A flare is worked into the stem and stern to gain buoyancy for work in waves, this keeps the kayak up at sprint speeds.  Depending on the crew weight the narrow beam 15 to 17” allows for more speed with experienced paddlers. 

The Pax fleet has solid tracking ability. Wave Dancer Productions has added a rudder system on their team kayak for race conditions that may be unfavorable.   Bottom panels are 4mm, while the sides and decks are 3mm, and the entire hull and deck are fiberglassed for strength and stiffness. Four structural bulkheads (two of them watertight) are standard.
