began modestly as a very “hands-on” operation in the early 1990’s.
They kept that approach and have continued to invest in boat development
and kit production equipment so that, today, they have the latest computer
technology and know more about working with wood and epoxy than anyone else in
the kit business. John
Harris and his staff love building boats and love using them. His staff includes
people with extensive on-water experience in all kinds of boats, so they have
knowledge that goes far beyond their kits. Chesapeake
Light Craft has had over 12,000 built and put into the water.
These represent the largest wooden boat fleet in the world today.
